Welcome to the TEAL Charitable Foundation
The TEAL Charitable Foundation (TCF), which was established by BC TEAL in 1986, is constituted under the B.C. Societies Act and registered as a charitable organization with Revenue Canada.
The primary mandate of the TEAL Charitable Foundation is “… to promote and facilitate the learning of English as an additional language or dialect and an understanding of the impact of the learner’s cultural environment on the ability to learn additional languages:” [From the 1986 TEAL Charitable Foundation Certificate of Corporation]
The TEAL Charitable Foundation’s charitable status enables it to engage in fundraising activities to support its mandate. The Foundation operates an endowment fund managed by the Vancouver Foundation. The annual interest revenues are used to fund the TEAL Charitable Foundation awards, scholarships and bursaries as well as designated professional development activities and events each year.

Step Up & Step Out – TCF Fundraiser
What an amazing night that was, and with several hundred tickets sold, we will be making a very positive contribution to our Refugee Endowment Fund. Thanks go out to EVERYONE who supported our Fundraiser (Step Up & Step Out), purchasing tickets and coming out to enjoy a night of dance demos, great appetizers, and an all around fun evening. We are a good step closer to our $100,000 goal and we couldn’t have done it without you.
