The TEAL Charitable Foundation [TCF] Refugee Award recognizes an adult or secondary student whose second language is English and who entered Canada as a refugee. The award is for a refugee who has shown courage and determination while adapting to a new language and a new culture in Canada and wishes to study in a vocational or academic program at an educational institution in British Columbia.
The TCF Refugee Award provides funding to support a refugee who wishes to study in a vocational or academic program at an educational institution in BC.
Applicants will be evaluated according to the applicant’s ability to:
The TCF Refugee Award is valued at $1000 [CAD] and will be awarded in April of each year. The recipient must submit tuition receipts or program fees prior to receiving the TCF Refugee Award.
The application deadline for the TCF Refugee Award is November 1st of each year. The successful recipient will be notified by the TCF within six weeks of the application deadline.
