Please join us for the 2019 Vancouver Island Regional Conference. This year’s theme is “Navigating Change: A Balancing Act”.
We are very pleased to announce our plenary panel which includes: Dr. Graham Pike, Dr. Susan Montabello, and Don Maybin.
Dr. Graham Pike
During his 35-year academic career, Dr. Graham Pike has been committed to enhancing global citizenship and social justice through his teaching, scholarship and leadership. He has written many books for teachers and worked as a consultant for United Nations, governments and NGOs in more than 20 countries around the world.
Dr. Sue Montabello
Dr. Sue Montabello worked in the Burnaby school district as a principal in both elementary and secondary schools for 25 years. She continues her work as instructor in education and leadership with Simon Fraser, Vancouver Island and City Universities. At the heart of Sue’s work is a commitment to the promise of community.
Don Maybin
Don Maybin teaches at Shonan Institute of Technology near Tokyo. He is a former director of the Language Institute of Japan and has twice been a featured speaker at the Japan Association of Language Teachers national conference. He conducts research into low-level learner use of communication strategies and evolving self-efficacy.

Conference registration is open!
Members need to be logged in to their BC TEAL account to access member rates. Online registration is available until Thursday, February 21st at midnight. Registration will also be available on site on Saturday, February 23rd.
Lunch is included in your registration.
