BC TEAL and SIETAR BC would like to invite you to join us for the second in our series “Self-Studies in Language Instruction and Pedagogy series through an Intercultural and Racially Aware Lens”. In these monthly sessions, instructors and administrators are invited to join conversations in teaching and learning. The facilitation of these sessions will be peer-led and have a different monthly focus in keeping with the mission and vision of SIETAR BC and BC TEAL. The focus of this session will be on allyship. We will be exploring:
What does allyship mean?
How does it work in different contexts?
What are our boundaries in allyship and who determines them?
Here is a link to the article, Unsettling allyship, unlearning and learning towards decolonising solidarity, that we will base the session on https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/02660830.2019.1654591
This session is hosted by Vancouver Community College and is a FREE event. Please meet in room A3500. We hope to see you on November 29th! Light refreshments will be provided.
