Karin Wiebe is pursuing her MA in Education at UBC’s Okanagan School of Education. She is interested in Canadian immigration in second and third tier communities, specifically the intersections of language learning and employment. With a BA in Anthropology from UBCO, Karin’s initial teacher education took place at Okanagan College and Oxford University. She is an experienced English as an additional language teacher and has worked with communities of new Canadians in the Okanagan for many years. A previous career in cultural tourism and the wine industry included living and working in Germany, British Columbia, and Banff, Alberta.
