BC TEAL Wellness Workshop

The start of a new year provides an opportunity for reflection and renewal. Join us on January 30th to explore what well-being means to you and to learn some positive and practical steps for practicing self-care and cultivating resilience.

We will provide tea and snacks and a supportive sharing environment.

Diana Jeffries specializes in working with refugees and multi-barrier learners and has been involved in the EAL sector for the past 15 years. She worked for ISS of BC in the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Moving Ahead Program (MAP), plus various youth and women’s programs. Diana has facilitated numerous workshops on working with students who have experienced trauma, applying art-based learning and promoting self-care. Diana has also written curriculum and resource guides for community organizations and is a consultant for BC Women’s Hospital’s Sexual Assault Services Program. She is the previous BC TEAL Chair of Teacher Research and Inquiry and is presently employed as the Literacy and Language Support Coordinator for DiverseCity and teaches at Pacific Immigrant Resource Society (PIRS) in the women’s refugee program.
