Douglas College Surrey Training Centre (LINC Program) is seeking contract English language instructors for the following position:
LINC 5/6 Evening Instructor: Starting August 8, 2022
We are seeking instructors who ideally have:
- An undergraduate degree from a recognized university
- The equivalent to TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 Certification
- Two- years’ experience in Adult English Language instruction in a group setting (negotiable)
- Experience teaching in an immigrant and refugee settlement language program (negotiable)
- Demonstrated familiarity with Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) and the Canada Language Benchmarks (CLB).
- A can-do attitude, an organized approach and a sensitivity to settlement language student needs
- Strong computer skills and ability to teach online if necessary
Application & Position Details:
- Evening hours are 9 hours per week (Tues, Wed & Thurs 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm)
- Classes are currently being held ‘in-person’
- Rate of pay is $31.16 per teaching hour
- Location: Douglas College Surrey, 13769 104 Ave, Surrey, BC V3T 1W6
