Job Description
ELS is looking to hire enthusiastic professionals with a love of teaching. We are adding to our experienced staff with both full-time and part-time instructors for our adult programs. With over 55 years of excellence in the field and schools across the globe, ELS stands on its reputation and results. Our downtown Vancouver location is conveniently located and hosts 100’s of adult students from diverse backgrounds, with expectations to grow with the coming summer. Small class size and dynamic lessons are our cornerstones. Our classes range from
Integrated Skills to Vocabulary Enhancement to Skill-Specific Modules to college prep Reading/ Writing. Responsibilities
As an ESL Instructor for ELS, you will deliver our fast-paced curriculum in interactive ways to
students while remaining culturally sensitive. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Teach students the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • Actively engage students by running dynamic, student-centered classes
  • Participate in placement tests and assessment at the beginning of every session
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors, sharing resources, experiences and solutions

Qualifications
As an ESL Instructor for ELS, you must have a desire to work with students and have positive
interactions with them. You must bring energy and fresh ideas to the classroom while making an
impact on the students that will last for the rest of their lives. Additional requirements include:

  • BA /BS required
  • TESL Canada recognized certification
  • 6 months experience teaching ESL preferred
  • Strong presentation, communication and writing skills
