BC TEAL was established in 1967 making it one of the oldest EAL professional associations in the world and the oldest in Canada. We just celebrated our 50th year in 2017!
The Association works to advance the profession of teaching English as an additional language in B.C. Through our Honourary Lifetime Contributor Award, BC TEAL seeks to recognize professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of English as an Additional Language.
BC TEAL’s Supporting Institutions are educational institutions, associations and schools who are concerned with teaching English as an additional language. Supporting Institutions help BC TEAL support professionalism in EAL instruction, and enhance the profile of EAL in BC.
