The Regional Representatives Committee
The committee is composed of seven Regional Representatives from Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, Okanagan, Thompson, Northern BC, and Kootenays. They support local member activities.
The Regional Representatives Committee works to increase the Professional Development opportunities for EAL teachers outside of the Lower Mainland. The committee is composed of seven Regional Representatives from Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, Okanagan, Thompson, Northern BC, and Kootenays. Regional Representatives have the opportunity to organize two to three local events to meet with EAL professionals within their region throughout the year.
This would include:
- a networking or professional development opportunity to celebrate EAL week (October/ November each year)
- a networking / sharing regional event which can be ‘no fee’ (or nominal fee) for BC TEAL members, with an added fee for non-members (non-members can be encouraged to join prior to the event)
This is a great committee if you like to collaborate with colleagues to come up with interesting events and enjoy meeting and networking with local EAL professionals. Committee members work together to support ideation and implementation of small to medium sized events. We are currently looking for reps for Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Thompson and Kootenays.
